Recognizing that there was a lack of organization amongst those stakeholders most aware of the importance of conserving our state's natural resources, the adventure sport community, I decided in 2008 to develop a hub website where this group could come together to discuss important issues and action alerts. Nearly as important as conservation is growing the sport(s) and increasing participation. Novice and expert alike can interact to ensure the longevity of our sport, our heritage and our resources. The Hellbender was chosen as the site's mascot because it represents a love for clean water and high mountains as well as representing a conservation message as it is currently threatened as a species.
Another vision for this project is to develop an ezine or online magazine integrating all of West Virginia's outdoor sports with an edgy composition. If you are a good writer, graphic designer, artist, photographer or advertiser I'd like to hear from you and put you on deck.
